/r/crossstitch for cross stitch stuff. Maybe here too. Maybe also the Fiber-art community on Pillowfort.
Maybe Tumblr for plant stuff. Much as I hate the site in general, I've never heard of anyone being called a pedophile for posting photos of algae balls.
