I never noticed how good the concept is of still-sapient undead characters physically deteriorating and being aware of it until I wanted to write about it and then remembered that Floraverse kinda does that with necropossums but not quite the same way because necropossums seem to generally be okay with whatever happens to them, and then Santa Clarita Diet started doing it in the exact way I was thinking of, where they're like "FUCK I'm Actually Dying" and also there's a way to stop the process.
