Tags here are geared towards personal organization for the blog owner rather than being a searchable thing site-wide (you can click on a tag, but you'll only get the posts on that person's blog tagged with the thing). DW is based heavily off LJ culture, where blacklisting tags wasn't a thing. Though LJ etiquette developed around putting long and/or image heavy posts, and discussion of sensitive subjects under a cut.

also what if I need to blacklist like, steven universe or voltron spoilers? Are those something that people are good about putting under cuts here?
Most people will be courteous enough to cut spoilers, it's usual common courtesy to do so.
